Alicia Kendig

MS in Public Health Nutrition and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)

Alicia Kendig From a young age, Alicia has developed her two true passions in life: Food and Sport. As a competitive swimmer at the ripe old age of 3, her love of training, competition and wellness continued through college and now into her professional career. To her, sports nutrition is an interesting and fulfilling piece of every athlete’s puzzle.

Alicia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and a Master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During her career as a collegiate varsity swimmer, she earned All-American status numerous times over, as well as a National Champion title in the 500 yard freestyle in 2003. During her time as a graduate student, she lent her knowledge and expertise in sport and nutrition to numerous varsity teams, and as an Assistant Coach, helped lead both the men’s and women’s varsity swim teams through a successful season.

A coaching internship at Carmichael Training Systems brought Alicia to Colorado Springs, and since then she has not looked back. As the Head Sports Dietitian at CTS for over 4 years, she has achieved the honors of a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, and has helped athletes of all ages, levels, and backgrounds achieve their performance goals by focusing on fuel for optimal performance. She has given numerous presentations to both coaching and athletic groups at the local, collegiate, elite, and national level. She is currently working with both the U.S. Olympic Committee to provide nutrition consulting to national level athletes, and is aiding the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency in creating useful educational materials in both nutrition and supplement usage.

When she’s not counting calories, Alicia enjoys being outside: swimming, road and mountain biking, hiking, running, and exploring. The chance to work with Lisa and you, her athletes, is an exciting and rewarding opportunity that Alicia is excited and thankful for.
